Where is Chernobyl?

Chernobyl is part of Kyiv Oblast, Ukraine, below is a map showing the location and below that, the Chernobyl Nuclear Reactor.

Is Chernobyl Haunted?

A group from the former Sci-fi Channel called “Destination Truth” went to Chernobyl to find out. I will say this, I started to do research on this and found out that a movie called “Chernobyl Diaries” was released which was very graphic in the way it was filmed. In the movie, it follows friends that traveled to the Ukraine to celebrate the engagement of two of the actors.

While in Ukraine they went on an “Extreme Tour Guide” and went to Chernobyl. But things take a quick turn for the worse. To know more, you can rent the movie, find it on or buy it on Amazon.

Was this an Accident?

According to some research, this was to be part of an evacuation test to see how long it would take everyone to leave Pripyat (the location of Chernobyl) but in the unfortunate event, one of the reactors went into alert mode as the reactor lost some of its water. This is what caused the reactor to explode.

Here is a little science, in order to keep the reactors from over heating. Once a reactor over heats, the radiation from the uranium can cause a massive explosion.

In remembrance of those who lost their lives in the tragic Chernobyl Accident, may you rest in peace.
