5 different types of Acceptance’s

I have had, in the past, a hard time of Self-Acceptance, because at the time I was worried about how people would react to me being gay, although nearly half the people in my family knew, except my parents. My parents were in denial of the whole thing. Yes, it is true, some people didn’t know… weird, I KNOW!

Knowing that the bible says “Homosexuality is a abomination” and that we will go to hell. Let me give the short version. I am adopted, got adopted into a Christian Family, and here we are, we will save this for a different post.

So, going back…. I had so many issues with who I was and who I would be, and today, I am more than happy with who I am, and who I am in love with (TOTALLY DIFFERENT POST).

Social Acceptance

This is where others, in a social setting or group of friends/people… this can also be a bit harder due to different age groups, like me… I am 36, look like I am in my late 20’s and act like I just turned 30. So, I guess you can say that the different age groups accept me. Since my brother, 39, has written me off, I have adopted my boss’ son as my brother. So, he is 23, so there.

In some societies, mental disabilities are not always accepted. I have worked with kids who were more mentally disabled than I, but I looked at them and saw they have so much to offer. I was the Art Director for the Co-op and I accepted those kids.

Conditional Acceptance

In all things, somethings are based on conditions like “terms and conditions” and “conditional love”. Sometimes conditional acceptances can psychological hurt a person, almost like cheating in a relationship. Are we genetically engineered to think, feel and see different things?
